Vehicle Info & Garage
Privacy Policy
Vehicle Info & Garage
Effective date: 1 October 2026
Developer: Chirag Gohil
Vehicle Info & Garage is an iOS app for cars and motorcycles. It stores your garage, dates, fuel log, and service notes on your iPhone. This policy explains what stays on the phone, when the app contacts a public website, and how advertising, analytics, and crash reports work.
Information stored on this iPhone
The app does not ask you to create an account. Chirag Gohil does not receive the garage information you type.
These items stay in the app on this phone:
- Nicknames and registration numbers you enter
- Document dates, such as insurance, PUC, RC, fitness, and licence
- Fuel logs, odometer readings, and amounts you type
- Service notes and bill photos you attach
- VIN decodes, safety reports, and fuel records you choose to save
- The language you select
Deleting the app deletes this information from the phone. The app does not sell this information, and it is not sent to advertisers.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications on this iPhone for dates you enter. They are scheduled on the phone. They are not sent to a server, and they are not sold.
Advertising
Vehicle Info & Garage may show ads from Google AdMob, including banner, native, interstitial, app open, and rewarded ads. Ads can be turned on after the app is published. Your garage, dates, fuel log, service notes, and photos are not uploaded to fill those ads.
If ads are on, Google may use a device identifier, such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), to make ads more relevant. That can include use across apps and websites owned by other companies. The iPhone will ask permission before that identifier is used. You can decline. You can also change the choice later in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
Google may also receive the phone’s IP address and information about ads shown or tapped. Google may show a consent message about ads. Ads can still appear if you decline tracking. Those ads are less personalized. Google’s own policy describes what its advertising services do: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Analytics and crash reports
The app uses Google Firebase. Chirag Gohil does not run a server that stores your garage. Firebase does not receive your registration numbers, document dates, fuel amounts, notes, or photos.
- Analytics: the app records that it was opened and which screen was shown, such as Home or Garage. Firebase also receives basic technical details, such as the device model, the iOS version, the app version, and a random app identifier. This identifier is not your garage, and it is not sold by Chirag Gohil.
- Crash reports: if the app closes unexpectedly, a crash report can be sent so the problem can be fixed. A crash report can include a random crash identifier, the device model, the iOS version, and the part of the app that failed. It does not include your garage.
- Remote configuration: the app downloads settings, such as whether ads are on and which ad unit to use. This download does not include your garage.
Google describes how Firebase handles this information here: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
How long information is kept
Information stored by the app stays on this iPhone until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Information already sent to Google, such as an advertising identifier, analytics, or a crash report, is kept according to Google’s policy, not on a server run by Chirag Gohil.
Information that is not collected
- There is no account, and no sign-in.
- The app does not look up a number plate to find an owner, phone number, or address.
- The app does not read a government database of vehicle owners.
- The app does not sell insurance.
- The app does not read or share your contacts.
- The developer does not operate a server that stores your garage.
When the app uses the internet
Garage, dates, fuel logs, service notes, calculators, and registration-code lists work on the phone without an account. Some screens ask a public source only when you open that screen and the phone is online.
- VIN decode, crash ratings, and recalls: the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
- Fuel economy: FuelEconomy.gov, a U.S. government source.
- Model descriptions and photos: Wikipedia and Wikimedia.
- Latest published cars and bikes: Wikidata, refreshed about once a day.
The phone contacts those sites directly. The developer does not receive what you searched. Those sites can see a normal web request, including the vehicle name or VIN you asked about and the connection address of the phone, the same way any website can. Vehicle Info & Garage does not use those requests to fill your garage or to choose your ads.
A photo is shown only when Wikimedia reports a licence that allows commercial use. The app links to the original article.
Children
Vehicle Info & Garage is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
